SolarBug monitoring systems
Solarbug, performance and fault analysis
SolarBug is a patented remote analysis system capable of detecting faults on photovoltaic modules, for example PID, derating, hot spots, and analysing historical production trends. By correctly analysing the photovoltaic system’s production data and the main environmental parameters, SolarBug highlights the status of the system and any deviation from the minimum and optimal production levels.
Using a proprietary algorithm, SolarBug selects, samples and processes the objective data collected from the system in real time, providing immediate and accurate information on:
- OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE
- TECHNICAL CAUSES OF INEFFICIENCIES
- PRESENCE OF ANOMALIES
- ACTUAL DERATING OF MODULES
- ACTUAL PERFORMANCE
Traditional monitoring systems provide a fragmented and often unrealistic view of actual performance, limited to reporting faults in individual parts of the power plant and providing performance indicators calculated from theoretical specifications of system components.
The result? The activities required to achieve the best possible performance are not carried out.
SolarBug is the only analysis system that can indicate whether the power plant’s production is in line with its actual potential. Using a power plant performance ratio (PR) analysis, corrected taking into consideration the effects of ambient temperature on system components, SolarBug analyses negative production patterns (NPR), highlighting the possible causes of power plant inefficiency.
SolarBug is a versatile tool that can be used either as a complement to a traditional monitoring system already installed on a photovoltaic system, or as a completely independent system.
